A marble based stone formed with limestone is recrystallised under high temperatures, pressures and magma intrusion. The newly formed crystal structures gives the marble a glistening, sparkly appearance which makes it particularly beautiful in the sunshine. The striking golden bands are the result of iron being deposited into the original limestone, mineralising into limonite over time.
